Common Questions

What is a pickup location?


Pickup Locations are simply places where we meet you with your order or we leave your order to pick up during that location's business hours. Common locations are parking lots and local businesses that are willing to work with and host us. 


How do pickup days work?


Arrive at the pickup location at your scheduled date and time. Some locations have a set time (for example, 5 pm), while others are a time range. (example: 9 am - 7 pm on Tuesday.) We will greet you there or leave your order. All you have to do is pick it up.


What should I bring on pickup day?


We don’t require anything at this time. Your order either comes in a bag or insulated box all ready for you, with your name on it.


How is my order packaged?


All meat items come individually packaged and frozen. We will always pack your items in bags or an insulated box for your convenience.


Can I change my order after I place it?


After you place an order, simply log in anytime before your upcoming deadline and add or remove items from an existing order. There's no button to press, and you will not receive a confirmation email for changes you make. Whatever is in your cart when the deadline passes will be what's packed and shipped.


When will my card be charged?

Your card is not charged when you place your order. Because many items are charged by the pound, we will not know your exact total until your order is packed. Once your order is packed, your card will be charged. This usually happens 1-3 days before you receive your order.


Is there an order minimum or maximum?


For Pickup Locations: No order minimum or maximum.


If I have a location with an insulated box for pickup, when do I need to return it?


We ask that you return the box and ice packs whenever you get a chance. Even if you drop it off when you pick up your next order, that works for us, as long as we are getting them back to keep costs down. We are currently NOT charging any fees or adding the costs of our boxes to the price. We thank you for trying to be environmentally conscious and re-use items!


What payment methods are accepted?


We accept all major credit/debit cards or the exact amount of your packed order in cash or check. If you entered a card when you created your account, I will charge that if you choose “Credit card” during the checkout process.


If you choose “Pay at Pickup,” then you’ll have to look for the email saying “Your Order is Packed” for your final amount. Please make checks out to Drover Hill Farm. Please note that some locations no longer allow for the pay-at-pickup option.


Is there a delivery fee?


No, not for any of the existing locations


Can a friend pick up my order?


Yes, just be sure you give them payment or have an active card on file within your account.


When are the order deadlines?


Most order deadlines are 2-3 days prior to the delivery date. See Pickup locations on the main menu.


Ordering Policies


Order totals are estimated because they are not weighed until we pack them. We don’t charge your card until it has been packed. Please look for the packed email with your adjusted order.


Payment is required at pickup or an active card on file. 


We do NOT have the ability to swipe cards at a pickup location.

 


Cancelations & missed pickups


Be sure to mark your calendars for your order pickup date and precise scheduled pickup time. As of now, we don’t charge a re-packing fee. Just know our time is valuable and we appreciate you picking up your order on your pickup day. If you can’t make it please try to give us a 24-hour heads up. We’re super easy-going and know life has emergencies. Just call if you can’t make it so we aren’t waiting for you.
