This well-marbled classic steakhouse cut consists of two tender steaks - the strip and tenderloin - derived from the short loin.
In a Porterhouse, the tenderloin is 1 1/4 inch or larger in diameter. It is differentiated from the T-Bone steak by its larger Tenderloin muscle.
You can't go wrong with just a little salt and pepper to taste the perfect steak for the grill or broiled. It gets its name Porterhouse from English pubs that served “Porter” ale and served this cut.
