Show Winnings Cattle For Sale Central Bull Test
Highland cattle were first introduced to the pastures of Drover Hill Farm in 1982. From the beginning, the emphasis was on producing high quality cattle. The goals are quite simple – produce cows that are functional, productive, attractive and easily handled – and do so in a “real world environment.” Functional cattle are a must at Drover Hill Farm. Cows are wintered outside on hay occasionally supplemented with silage. In the summer all animals, with the exception of the ones to be shown, live off the pasture alone. Weaning weights are taken each year and cows are scrutinized for their productivity and culled when they are not. Showing is a big part of the Drover Hill program. Over the last twenty years they have produced many national and regional champions. While winning is important, the two things they are most proud of is that most of their show winners have gone on to be top producing cattle, and that many of the cattle they have sold have gone on to win, and produce winners for there new owners.
