BED & BREAKFAST
Drover Hill Farm is a 240 acre former hops farm that has been a working livestock farm for the last 80 years. Until1982 it featured dairy cattle and for the last 25 years it has feature high quality Highland and Angus cattle. Over the last year restoration work has been done on the house which also included plans to convert it into a Bed & Breakfast. Our home offers a lot of history, not only was it a former hops farm, but the Lipsey family has many generations of items that furnish our home; one of which is our hat room, which features hats and gloves worn by William's Grandmother and Stephanie's Mother, much of the furniture dates back two generations in the Lipsey family as well. Enjoy your stay here, we look forward to sharing our heritage as you explore our farm. If you like the outside, why not take a walk where the cows roam, pack a lunch and enjoy the rolling hills or sit out on the front porch and rock in the rocking chairs and relax. For those that are more adventurous, let us know and you are more than welcome to help out with chores.
Two of the bedrooms are located in the former quarters for the hops workers. When the hops were ready - often people came to this area from as far away as New York City to pick the hops. Many of the bigger farms often had dormitories for the pickers to stay, as you will see in our home. These unique and comfortable rooms feature private bathrooms. The other two rooms are in the main section of the house. All rooms have cable television and wireless internet. Enjoy your breakfast in our comfortable dining room or outside on the spacious porch. Relax in the Victorian parlor or pass some time playing billiards. You may also just want to relax and pass some time exploring some of the 240 acre farm. We will be happy to show you the cattle and take some time to explain the farm.
